Oral Surgeon Melanie K. Marshall, DDS, MD
Dr. Melanie Marshall was born and raised in Columbia, MD. She firstfell in love with North Carolina while earning her bachelor’s degree from Duke University. After Duke, she moved 15 miles down the road to Chapel Hill where she graduated from The UNC School of Dentistry in 1998.
Dr. Marshall then pursued her dream of becoming an oral surgeon. She completed her Doctor of Medicine studies as well as a year of general surgery training at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. She completed her residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Louisville in 2004. After her residency was complete, Dr. Marshall was fortunate to be able to pursue further fellowship training at the University of Melbourne in Melbourne, Australia.
At the completion of her training, Dr. Marshall returned, as she had hoped, to North Carolina to practice. She purchased Dr. William Streiff’s practice on Main Street in Salisbury in 2007.
Dr. Marshall is a board certified Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon, a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, a Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiology and a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.
Interests include all aspects of office based oral surgery including wisdom tooth removal, tooth removal in preparation for dentures, in-office anesthesia, bone grafting and implant placement. Of course most importantly, she strives to provide patients with the safest, most pleasant experience possible.
